Ronald H. Bolding President and Chief Executive Officer
As president and chief executive officer of Inter Valley Health Plan, Ronald H. Bolding provides his strategic vision and expertise to one of the region’s leading Medicare Advantage health insurers.
In 2006, Ronald joined Inter Valley Health Plan, a $130 million not-for-profit HMO based in Pomona, Calif., and has seen the company through years of stability and success. He also serves on the company’s board of directors, where he continues to provide insightful strategies on improving and managing the health of the senior population. With nearly three decades of management and executive level experience in the HMO business and health care fields, as well as Navy command experience, Ronald has held various executive-level positions. His last career post was with UHP Healthcare where he worked his way to chief operating officer during his 21-years with the company. Additionally, his career profile includes extensive manufacturing and operations experience gained with Johnson & Johnson and American Hospital Supply.
Ronald is active in community service and in faith-based organizations. Currently, he serves as a board member of Pomona Valley Community Services, a board member of Congregational Homes, Inc., and is a Rotarian. Ronald is a Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) children’s leader and in the past served as an administrator of support for an orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya. He has participated in numerous health care symposiums, and in 2004 was a Trade Team Member traveling to Hong Kong, China to provide recommendations on ways to address shortfalls in local health care funding.
Ronald received dual bachelor’s degrees in economics and history from Ripon College located in Wisconsin. He served 28 years in the United States Navy, including deployments aboard the USS Decatur during the Viet Nam War and as a battalion commander lending stateside support during Operation Desert Storm. He retired from the Navy Reserves in 1998 with the rank of Captain. In his spare time, Ronald enjoys spending time with his wife Eliza of 36 years. He has two adult sons, Stephan and Ronald Jr., who is married to Dr. Toya Tillis-Bolding.
Cyndie O’Brien Vice President Sales/Marketing & Communications
As vice president of sales/marketing and communications of Inter Valley Health Plan, Cyndie O’Brien provides strategic direction to a team of 18 employees, as well as establishes objectives to increase visibility and membership numbers for one of the region’s leading and oldest Medicare Advantage health plans in Southern California.
A part of the Inter Valley Health Plan team for over 15 years, Cyndie has risen through the ranks starting as creative media planner to communications manager to director of marketing and communications and finally to her current role. She has created many note-worthy community events during her tenure as part of The Vitality Series ranging from the annual Senior Talent Showcase, Wellness on Wheels, Adopt A Grandchild and the annual Silver Screening to name a few. Overseeing all company marketing and communications, Cyndie is the editor of two company newsletters, manager of all direct mail and lead generation campaigns, and directs all sales, advertising, public relations and community programs. Prior to Inter Valley Health Plan, Cyndie held positions at Willdan & Associates as marketing assistant and Fastframe as marketing manager.
Cyndie is a member of the Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Association, as well as serves on the boards of the Visiting Nurse Association of Southern California and St. Joseph School. She received a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in marketing from California State University – Long Beach, and currently resides in Upland with her husband Dan and three children.
Susan Tenorio Vice President of Health and Member Service
Susan L. Tenorio, BSN, RN, is vice president of health and member services of Inter Valley Health Plan and is a key member of the executive team. Susan helps manage $135,000,000 in not-for-profit revenue to provide health services to Inter Valley’s 13,000 Medicare members. She is responsible for implementation and operations of all clinical health delivery practices. Susan began her career as an OB nurse for eleven years at Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina. She later joined the managed care arena and has worked in various capacities at Chino Medical Group and San Antonio Medical Group. In 1998, Susan joined Inter Valley Health Plan as the Director of Health Services having responsibility for the utilization and quality management of both medical and pharmacy. A native of Dumaguete City in the Philippines, Susan received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Sillman University. Susan is a panelist and spokesperson for various industry events, and is a member of the American Case Manager Association and a board member for Inland Hospice. She resides in Chino with her husband of 26 years, Eugene, and their three children, Nichole, Samantha and Eric.
