Riverside County – ADA Access
Transportation
Access is a door to door service for
patients who have difficulty with balance, use assistive devices for ambulation
or have problems with endurance. Access transportation accommodates people in
standard sized wheel chairs. Patients
must be able to get to the curb near their home. Access is a service designed to meet the
requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The purpose is to
provide equal access to public transportation for persons who are physically or
cognitively unable to use regular bus service. Access provides curb-to-curb
service to complement the Omnitrans fixed-route bus
system. The Access service area is defined as up to 3/4 mile on either side of
an existing bus route.
Application completed for person applying for ADA service: It is important to complete all parts of the online
application before clicking the Submit button. Applications that are not
complete will be rejected, which will delay the eligibility process. If you are
unable to complete the online application, you may also print out the
application and fill it out manually – please print. After completing the application,

For your convenience, you have a choice of
licensed professionals who can complete this form; Doctor, Occupational
Therapist, Social Worker, Nurse, Rehabilitation Worker, etc. You may print out
the form from our website or have one mailed to you. Bring the form to your
treating professional and have them mail or deliver it to RTA at the address
above or fax it to (951) 565-5001.
IMPORTANT: Both documents must be completed and returned to RTA otherwise your
certification will be considered incomplete which will delay the eligibility
process. Upon completion of the certification process, RTA will notify you
within 21 days by mail regarding the decision made on your eligibility.
Please note: If you qualify for service, you will be sent an ADA card you must show
the driver each time you board a Dial-A-Ride vehicle. In addition to your ADA
card, you must show a photo ID card such as a California Drivers License,
California ID card or Veteran's ID card. Your ADA card will not have your
picture on it. If you do not have a photo ID, RTA can assist you in obtaining

NOTE: If plan to use only local
Senior/Disabled Dial-A-Ride service you are not required to fill out an
application. Simply call 1-800-795-7887 to book your trip. On your first
trip only, you will be required to provide proof of disability or age
eligibility at the pick-up location.
