Over One Week Employees Donated 155 Hours to 13 Local Non-Profits

POMONA, Calif., July 22, 2009 – Inter Valley Health Plan is proud to announce 50 employees have completed the first annual Employee Community Involvement Week with 155 hours donated to 13 local non-profits. Last week’s initiative benefited several organizations including the American Cancer Society Thrift Shop, Community Senior Services, Inland Hospice, Inland Valley Hope Partners, Meals on Wheels, Visiting Nurse Association and the White Cane Center for the Blind.

“We are very proud of our employees for taking such an active role in this week-long initiative,” said Inter Valley Health Plan President and CEO Ronald H. Bolding. “Their volunteer spirit has been contagious and many are now seeking additional opportunities to give back to these wonderful charitable organizations. Because of their positive response, we will most likely bring back this volunteer event next year.”

Inter Valley Health Plan (, a Pomona-based Medicare Advantage Organization, decided to create Employee Volunteer Week as an event to give back to the community and help kick off the company’s 30th anniversary festivities. The non-profit organizations were selected based on need and employee suggestions, and some of the volunteer projects were organizing books, packaging goody bags, crafting gifts and organizing food pantries. Inter Valley Health Plan also donated over 200 books from their corporate library to the American Cancer Society Thrift Shop.

Celebrating their 30th year in business, Inter Valley Health Plan will be continuing the festivities into September when they will host an anniversary fundraiser, where all proceeds will benefit “Make a Senior Smile,” a non-profit charity providing resources and life enrichment opportunities with the ultimate goal of generating smiles for seniors. Each year, Inter Valley Health Plan supports over 40 significant charities and non-profit organizations through volunteering and contributions.
