Message from the President

In 1979, a small group of physicians and  administrators from Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center formed a health plan that put heathcare needs first. This health plan grew and eventually evolved into what is Inter Valley Health Plan today. 

In our 43-year history, this is, without a doubt, the most difficult and heartbreaking news we’ve had to share – Inter Valley Health Plan will not be offering coverage in 2023.

When it came time to renew our contract with Medicare, it became clear that in today’s highly competitive Medicare environment, we would not be able to continue to provide the high-level of benefits and service that you, our members, deserve.

This webpage contains information about your coverage and transitioning to a new health plan for 2023. 

Please be assured that your membership is valued; and we will continue to service your health care needs through December 31, 2022

And, so it is with the most heartfelt gratitude, that I and every employee of Inter Valley Health Plan THANK YOU for entrusting your  health care needs to us.


Finding a New Medicare Advantage Health & Drug Plan

As you consider your future health care needs, and choose a new health plan for 2023, here are some important questions to ask:

  • Do my doctors, hospital, and pharmacy contract with the new Plan?
  • What copays will I have to pay?
  • What is the annual maximum out-of-pocket limit?
  • Does the Plan cover extra benefits like over-the-counter items, dental care, vision services, hearing aids, gym membership, transportation?
  • Does the Plan charge an additional monthly premium to have access to these extra benefits?
  • How will the new Plan help me transition mt current services and care in 2023?


  • Are my medications covered?
  • Is my pharmacy in the network?
  • Are there any restrictions or limitations?
  • Is my drug affected if I enter the coverage gap?

Knowing these answers before you choose a new plan will help prevent surprises.
